Sharon Feinstein grew up in Zimbabwe, the daughter of the local gynaecologist. Her mother was born in Strasbourg and imbued their home with her European past, which added another dimension to growing up in a small colonial town. Hers was a literary home, and she left to study English Literature and Language at Edinburgh University receiving a First Class Hons.  Sharon then lived in Florence, in an old farmhouse outside the city, and studied Italian and Italian art history at the British Institute.

In her long career as a journalist, Sharon has covered news, campaigns to raise money for children’s wards,  and campaigns to save endangered animals.  She also had a long career in Showbiz. From this side of her career, Sharon travelled with Freddie Mercury, Rod Stewart, Spandau Ballet, and has interviewed household names from Angelina Jolie, Leonardo di Caprio, Donald Sutherland, Maggie Smith, Jude Law, Ray Winstone, Naomie Harris, Jamie Dornan, and Kate Winslett, to Freddie Mercury, Eric Clapton, Bono,  George Michael, and Amy Winehouse, amongst others.
